Hermosillo City is located in the western part of the State of Sonora on the coordinates: 29º05´ parallel with the Northern latitude and Meridian 110º57´ longitude West of Greenwich; with an altitude of 282 meters.

It is located at 260 km. from the United States and an hour away from beautiful beaches.

Brief History
Founded in 1700 as a place for Pima Indians. Its original name was Santísima Trinidad del Pitic, in the Pima Language “Pitic” means “place where two rivers join” On February 9th, 1825 it was instituted as a municipal head city, depending of the Horcasitas department; and the verdict of the Western State Legislature on September 5th, 1828 took away its primitive name and gave it its current name of Hermosillo, with the political category city in honor of General Jose Ma. Gonzalez Hermosillo. The verdict No. 57 from April 1879 stipulated the following: it is moved to the temporary States Capital and the official headquarters of the city of Hermosillo.

Weather
Hermosillo's weather is desertic semi-hot, with fresh winters. In the three months of Summer (June, July, August) we can have up to 45°C, but, the rest of the year you can enjoy a nice Spring weather. We have a lot of mesquite vegetation, like the palo verde, huisaches, brea. We enjoy two beautiful beaches in the Cortez Sea: San Carlos and Kino Bay. They are both 1 hour from Hermosillo by road.
